Theo Powell brings over a decade of diverse experience to his work, most recently in financial services. Originally from Streamwood, Illinois, he earned his degree in Marketing from Carthage College, where his dedication and work ethic took him beyond the classroom to play professional basketball in Australia, Ireland, and Mexico. After returning home, he completed his MBA at Concordia University Chicago and began channeling that same discipline and drive into helping others with strategies for their financial future.
Prior to joining Lakeshore Financial Group, Theo spent six years as an Agent and Registered Representative with New York Life, specializing in retirement planning strategies, rollovers, college planning strategies, and life insurance. Before entering the financial industry, he served as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Carthage College, where he worked closely with students and families and saw firsthand how proper financial strategies can change lives.
Theo describes himself as loyal and hardworking, qualities that define both his career and his relationships with clients. He lives by the philosophy, “In order to become the 1%, you must do what the other 99% won’t do,” a mindset that drives him to go above and beyond to help clients reach their goals.
Now residing in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with his family, Theo enjoys cooking and trying new foods. He also serves on the board of the Walking Tall Foundation, whose mission is to spread a message of strength and support for victims of mass shootings.
