Matt Ellis brings a client-first approach shaped by a unique background in both finance and service. He studied finance and computer information systems at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and most recently spent several years at a national financial firm, where he helped clients build personalized strategies around retirement, investments, and insurance.
What sets Matt apart is his 15-year career as a PGA Golf Professional. That experience taught him the value of building lasting relationships, providing high-quality service, and helping people reach meaningful goals — all of which now guide his work in financial planning. He describes himself as outgoing, curious, and someone who’s always learning through connection and new perspectives, a mindset that drives the way he approaches each client relationship.
A part of our Upper Midwest Team with Zach Perez, Matt focuses on comprehensive retirement planning, investment strategy, insurance, and tax-efficient distribution planning. He believes in treating clients like family, offering the same level of care, honesty, and support he would want for his own loved ones.
Matt is passionate about helping clients retire with confidence by creating plans that reflect not only their financial goals but also their lifestyle, healthcare needs, and legacy priorities. He’s also committed to long-term relationship building, supporting financial literacy in the community, and mentoring newer advisors within the firm.
Outside the office, you’ll find Matt spending time with family, experimenting with new recipes, or tending to his lawn — his ongoing passion project.
